The Lymphatic System
The Lymphatic system is part of our immune assist us to cope with infections. It is made up of a network of small vessels that transport lymph (a clear fluid that transports nutrients and waste) and lymph glands (nodes) that filter the lymph fluid. Other lymphatic tissues are tonsils, liver and spleen.
The lymphatic system has three main functions, to help us fight infection by identifying enemies, filtering and destroying the invading micro-organisms, distributing nutrients throughout. The waste products are then expelled from the body via the urinary system.
